My Slowstick Empty
PostSubject: My Slowstick   My Slowstick EmptyWed Jan 25, 2012 7:48 am

Well it had to happen sooner or later I've dusted down the bench switched the heating to full and started my build, for those that know me I'm on a slowflyer kick as my last fast one went a little off course lol.
This is my rendition of the slowstick flyer only I've upped the scale from 43 inches to 50 in the wingspan as you get more air hold on the Undercambered wing (pain to build but worth it imo).
The fuse is the trusty 10x10mm aluminium box section from a local diy store about £4 per metre length.I'm going to use a 1200kv motor with a 10x4.7 prop for torque and slow flight.
If your interested in this plane you can pick one up ARTF for around £30 but wheres the fun in that, The wingmount is going to be the hardest part of the build as I'm looking for something Aluminium to keep it as strong and the weight down.
The parts I need to work out can be found Here

For now this is how the build stands any input as to the parts yet to follow will be more than welcome.

Being RET controlled here's the control surfaces ( for now )
My Slowstick 20120140

Bring the parts together for an idea of scale
My Slowstick 20120141

For the protection of the rear controls on landing I added this for the wheel to sit on

I'll update the thread as I go so watch this space and thanks for looking Wink

As always plans are available (made them up myself from different site ideas)
If you fancy a go on the slower side its perfect for aerial photography which is my main aim.

While I was out picking up some supplies for daz I bought the brass tubing needed to do the front and rear spars, I can now Kick on with the build and finish the wing.
