| I have started a detailed build thread for the building of this large plane. It can be seen here http://spacewalker2.co.uk/Here is a picture or 2 to give you a feel for the size...... That is a wheel that I have just machined out of a 6" bar of alluminium. The overall wheel diameter is 8". I need a bigger dining room !!!! And that is Sam's Eurofighter in the background. It is being fitted with a 5" electric ducted fan with a 5Kw motor running on 12 cells. | |

If you have time whats the setup cheers. Hi, the electrics are: - Turnigy 7kw 100/80 brushless motor x 2, mounted on a single purpose made shaft - Turnigy 200amp esc x2 - EMCOTEC 360amp power switch for safe isolation of supply (that green light in the side of the fus means it is 'armed') - Turnigy nano-tech batteries, 3 cell, 5000mah x24 giving 12 cell 30amp.hour (batteries weigh 12kg) - Prop is a 34" x 14" Control: - AR9000 receiver x2, with each completely seperate and handling half of the servos. - Additional 4 remote receivers, one in each wingtip, one in nose and one in tail. - Turnigy 2650mah 2 cell batteries for receivers x4 with purpose made power box for isolation and distribution (see pic below) - Turnigy HV titanium gear 31kg.cm servos x 10 - EMCOTEC servo matching units x 5 (because of 2 receivers - only one servo can be adjusted from transmitter) Sponsors are: Turnigy - batteries and servos SLEC - all wood and cutting StarLoc Adhesives - all glues EMCOTEC - power systems | |
