| Hi guys, Built this one up for my cousin Geoff I know a few of you have met him down at the club. It has yet to be flown but everthing balances out and should be fine for the maiden flight, its a 36 inch wingspan plane with a full airfoil wing its a little heavier than i would like but the original structure was a little on the weakside for an all weather flyer so its had a few changes from the original build. It pulls only 130 watts @ 12 amps so its no speed machine but its designed to fly slow with 3d ability as a trainer. I'll do the maiden and trim it out then it will be passed on to Geoff, I hope he get alot of flying pleasure from this one and enjoys the plane. Cheers all | |

| Nice job Keith, looks very nice. Should be nice and easy to see in the sky with those colours too. | |

| Thanks for the comments andy, I can confirm that its easy to see in the sky as it was maidened today (Geoff was present) and it could not have gone any better, off it went and a little elevator and up it went, it only required 2 clicks of elevator trim to maintain level flight. As i said in the first post its not a speed machine but does get around with ease due in part to the full airfoil on this plane.
I did a couple of minutes on it first to get a feel of the handling before landing, I then handed the controls to Geoff, a quick burst of throttle and it performed exactly the same way as the maiden, as Geoff got the feel of the Ultron he started out with a few barrel rolls which turned out to be very very fast indeed (look at the ailerons above its not a suprise). To round off I'm very happy with the plane and its something that can grow with geoff as his flying skills develop, He can upgrade the motor when he feels he wants/needs a little more power but for now its a great flyer. | |
